This buffet was hand-made in France 50+ years ago. Its construction is unique and almost primitive. It does not appear to be built with modern tools or equipment to ensure consistency. The drawers have large hand-carved dovetails on both the front and back. The back has beveled panels so it can be used in a floating design scheme. The underside of the drawers also has this same beveled panel. There is visible joinery at the edge of the top.
We sanded and refinished the top to repair some damage and replaced the missing trim around the bottom of the legs. The front right leg has some bowing inward. None of these repairs or imperfections preclude it from being a showstopper!
Whoever reclaims him will be a fortunate soul!
