Antique Guatemalan majolica pottery water pitcher / vessel from the highlands of Guatemala. This piece has such character, with majolica glaze and traditional decorative design applied in relief around top. The mouth has a curved scoopopening for pouring , and one old chip, pictured.
The pitcher shows patina from many years of loving use.
The bottom and sides are blackened from having been placed in the traditional wood burning fire of a native kitchen to heat the water inside.
