These fantastic french riviera sconces were designed during the 1960s in france and are attributed to louis sognot. These unique sconces are in amzing conditions and have a charming light honey color. The shade of these delightful wall lamps is made in hand-woven wicker and can rotate horizontally. The shade is mounted over a curved rattan arm that is then connected to a cane base. They come wired and tested, compatible with both us and eu/uk standards and use a single e14 light bulb. These are beautiful examples of mid-century organic craftsmanship, where rattan and wicker blend perfectly. A wonderful pair of wall lamps for a mid-century organic project or a french riviera style porch or garden. Dimensions (cm): width - 13 depth - 19 height - 24,5 louis sognot was a french designer best known for his elegant furniture made from a combination of rattan and wood. Sognot was influenced by art deco and cubist aesthetics, giving his work a unique stylistic touch while still being usable. Born on may 25, 1892 in paris, france, sognot studied at école bernard-pablissy before working as a designer at the au printemps department store in paris in 1919. The designer became a founding member of the union des artistes decoroteurs. He died in 1970 in paris, france.
