This mid 20th century watercolor on paper portrait of a woman with blue eyes is by Polish-born New York artist Jennings Tofel (1891-1959). Tofel was a friend of Georgia O'Keefe and Alfred Stieglitz. He received an art grant to work in Paris in the 1920s. His work is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian and the Whitney Museum of American Art. Tofel is known for his allegorical, Expressionist drawings and paintings.
The piece will be shipped in an archival mat to fit a standard sized frame.
