This 1962 pastel on paper abstract with red and blue is by New York/San Francisco Abstract Expressionist artist Gary Lee Shaffer (1936-2001). Shaffer trained with Hans Hofmann in the late 1950s and became an influential member of the Printmakers Workshop in Manhattan. His works are in the permanent collection of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Detroit Institute of Arts.
Estate stamped lower right.
The piece will be shipped in a mat to fit a standard sized frame.
