This 1946 ink on paper cartoon illustration is by San Francisco artist Clyde Follett Seavey (1920-1991). Seavey studied at UC Berkeley and California College of Arts and Crafts. He was a commercial artist for magazines such as The American Weekly and had many shows in San Francisco during the 1960s.
Caption reads: "Mr. Sleezy! We'll Have To Pull Ourselves Together!". Seavey created a book of illustrations satirizing his position in the Art Department in advertising firms.
Signed lower right.
The piece will be shipped in a mat to fit a standard sized frame.
