Bud Gordon [signed u.l.] Delta King Riverboat, oil on board, 1978. Size: 11 1/2 6 1/2" mounted on wood frame [18 x 12 overall].
Working in a modernist, impressionistic style, Gordon depicts the Delta King juxtaposed against the Sacramento skyline. NOTE: the Delta King is now a floating, entertainment hotel.
Bud Gordon was born in 1948 in Keokuk, Iowa. He has lived in Sacramento since 1960. He is a graduate of UC Davis 1977 with a BA degree in Art Studio. While the subject matter of Gordon's work is as varied as his mediums, his interest in the surface and in texture is what unites his work. He studied with such masters as Wayne Thiebaud and Manuel Neri.
