It is a metal ceiling lamp with a wide scalloped hood. The hood keeps the light projected on a focused area such as a table or reading area. It is painted white underneath, brightening the light without overwhelming the whole room. It has a 14 foot cord disguised in a decorative chain that is designed to plug into a wall socket. And it has a toggle switch to turn it on and off. It could easily be converted to a ceiling fixture. It is large, 14" in diameter and is about 14" high. It is in excellent condition with a little patina which would be consistent with its age, but no dents or scratches. See less
