An absolutely stunning military campaign style desk by one of America’s most notable designers, Ralph Lauren. This late 20th century piece is a rare find and would be a breathtaking focal point for any study, office, or library. Its distinguishing features include: Faux bamboo trim carved from mahogany, desk surface upholstered in canvas, brass campaign hardware and pulls with a natural patina, a center drawer flanked by 3 drawers on either side, and a glass top. Common to the campaign style, the desk is in three parts: Two bases with 2 drawers each, and the desk top with 3 drawers across. Each drawer measures 30" in depth, providing plenty of storage.
Historical Background: This desk came from the estate of the late Norman E. Brinker (born 1931, died 2009). Brinker was a prolific restaurateur, he streamlined many familiar companies such as Chili’s, Jack in the Box, Pillsbury, Burger King, and is responsible for creating the casual dining model we know today! Brinker was also an avid polo player and competed as a member of the United States Olympic Equestrian team in 1952. This desk was a part of his estate, Twin Mallets Ranch, in Mckinney, Texas.

All can be noted in the photos! While the desk is perfectly acceptable as is, it could benefit from some cleaning of the wood and canvas. less
