Zita Sudnika, Moonlight. 2007. Oil on canvas, 37x75 cm
The painting is a serene and dreamlike depiction of a night landscape, with a subtle and haunting beauty. The foreground is dominated by fields that are partially covered in water, creating a sense of depth and dimensionality. The fields are rendered in shades of olive green, with the water reflecting the tones of the sky above. In the distance deep blue mountains rise up, their silhouettes stark and dramatic against the dark blue sky. The trees are depicted in shades of yellowish and olive green, with their branches stretching out towards the moon.
The round moon is the centerpiece of the composition, glowing brightly in the clear sky above. It is depicted in a soft, creamy yellow, with a subtle gradient of light and shadow that gives it a sense of depth and dimensionality. The moon's light casts a silver glow over the landscape, illuminating the fields and trees in a soft, ethereal light.
The overall effect of the painting is one of quiet contemplation and introspection. The night landscape is peaceful and serene, with the only sounds being the distant calls of nocturnal creatures. The painting invites the viewer to step into its dreamlike world, to leave behind the stresses and worries of everyday life and simply immerse themselves in its beauty and tranquility.
