These make great desk chairs for slant lid secretary desks because the arms actually fit underneath the lid. This example has a Curly Maple crest rail with curved splats. The woven splint seat has a couple of cracked strands but is still nice & strong and had no problem holding my weight at close to 200 pounds. At some point in the chair's life the upper portion of the crest was terminated which is pretty commonplace on these. The bottoms of the feet were professionally restored with whoever performed the work doing a fantastic job matching the grain & setting the repair at a sharp angle to hide the repair line. If you look closely at our image showing the bottom, the restorer also set a dowel through the leg to ensure it’s strong for the next few generations of sitters. The chair measures 29 1/2” wide arm to arm x 24 1/2” deep x 28” tall with a 16” seat height. See less
