Caesar was King Edward VII's favourite dog and led the funeral procession in 1910. This book was published just after the King's death and hurriedly withdrawn soon afterwards, hence only a few copies exist.
A story told from the perspective of King Edward VII's wire-haired terrier Caesar that led up to the events of the king's death and the dog's confusion as he sought his dead master in vain. The writing is very simple and easy-to-follow while truly included in a novella form for those who enjoy a good dog story.
Caesar (1898–1914) was a Wire Fox Terrier owned by King Edward VII. He was bred in the kennels of Kathleen, Duchess of Newcastle, and became the constant companion of the King. After the King's death in 1910, the dog attended the funeral and walked in the procession in a prominent position ahead of nine kings and other heads of state. Caesar has been the subject of paintings, and a hand crafted hardstone model created by the House of Fabergé.
