Animal rugs and similar pictorials are are in any provenance, and this is among the most exceptional we’ve seen among folk art of the late 19th and early 20th century Here, a palette of teal blue, red, beige, and white tones underscores an almost abstract approach to illustration, where four foxes in running poses are depicted under a blue sky with abundant floral patterns in the field and border alike. Keen eyes will further note a minimalist approach to the paisley (or boteh) pattern in the field.
