Antique Fenton Paneled Dandelion Tankard Pitcher Carnival Glass Amethyst Body with Gold Effect c1910
This amethyst carnival glass tall tankard/water pitcher is a c1910-11 piece that has survived well over 100 years and had its most recent home as part of a massive carnival glass collection in Ohio. The Amethyst ground shows rich consistent color and the iridescent finish is strong. With strong light, you can see that the amethyst takes on a red quality, but I am assured by more expert Fenton collectors that this piece is amethyst. Note: You can see this pattern in a book by Edwards & Carwile entitled "STANDARD ENCYCLOPEDIA of CARNIVAL GLASS 7th EDITION”, on page #262.
Measurements:
6.5" D x 6.5" W x 12.5" H
~2.8 lbs
Condition:
Note: Early carnival glass era pieces often have characteristics of the glass making process used, which include having stress marks, straw marks and air bubbles sometimes seen inside the glass. These characteristics are NOT considered damage. This tankard specifically appears to be in very good antique condition with some small surface scratches throughout. There are a couple fleabites (possibly manufacturing flaws) on the underside. Otherwise, normal wear for age. Please see all photos.
