Theo van der Horst (1921-2003 Arnhem Netherlands) is an expressionist painter with a great sense of colour. He was inspired by the pre-war Flemish expressionists such as Constant Permeke and Gustave de Smet and was fascinated to paint people in all their circumstances.
Van der Horst won various prizes at home and abroad and exhibited in galleries and museums throughout Europe. Until the 1980s. After that, he opted for an extreme hermitage, but continued to work. Several museums have purchased his work.
