This type of glass is what was considered a Champagne glass in the 1950s and 1960s. A complex baroque motif is attached to the blown stem of each glass. Each part of the stem is embellished with 24-carat gold leaf. The glasses are made completely by hand. The complete set includes 12 glasses. Each of them is large enough to be considered a small vase. An incredible discovery. There was a reason why this round, shallow shape was designed for Champagne: the sensation of crispness on the nose and bouquet. Today you can also serve a martini or even use it as an ice cream sundae. The style and shape make me think they were made in the 1950s. However cobalt blue was very popular in the 1980s. Signed, one bears the Maestri Muranesi label. Maestri Muranesi was a brand of Amelio Cenedese. One of the best glass furnaces is located in Murano on a small island that was created over the centuries with waste from glass production, Isola Serenella. The glasses are made completely by hand. The glass is in immaculate condition. Apparently it was never used. Unique See less
