A gorgeous Empire style mahogany and faux marble top gueridon table supported by three gilded female caryatids (female figures used … Read more A gorgeous Empire style mahogany and faux marble top gueridon table supported by three gilded female caryatids (female figures used in place of columns). The apron of this table has a brass, or brass colored laurel leaf band and rosettes. The base has a tripod stretcher formation with a large central gilded finial, and mahogany veneers. Each section of the base rests upon a cast metal, brass colored, ball foot. The top floats, or rests, on the mahogany apron and has a beveled edge. The top appears to be faux marble with a green and white pattern. Open source references indicate this piece is in the French style of Jacob-Desmalter or Charles Percier. The mahogany veneer on the base has some chips. The gilded caryatids, made of wood, plaster and golden paint, have some chips to the feet, and other minor chips or imperfections elsewhere. The faux marble top, at least we believe it to be faux, has some minor scratches. Please see photographs for an overall representation of condition. See less
