This book leads the reader into some of the most distinguished and original homes of Europe. Here are glimpses into the lives of gifted, glamorous people whose taste sets style around the globe.
A classic design book from the 1960s. The Best in European Decoration is compiled from pictures and texts featured in L'Oeil, the art review. The homes explored include Roger Vivier's Parisian apartment, David Hick's Britwell Salome, Cecil Beaton's Pelham Place townhouse, Pierre Soulages' Mediterranean villa, Gianni Agnelli's poolhouse, Leonor Fini's attic apartment, and Yves Vidal's Tangian castle, Art, antiques and taste abound. The book appears to be inscribed by David Hicks, although it is only signed 'David'. The handwriting matches other books we have handled inscribed by Hicks.
