This mid-century figure study ink on paper drawing is by Dutch-Californian expressionist Richard Van Wingerden (1893-1969). Van Wingerden was a WPA artist who studied with Thomas Hart Benton at the Art Students League in New York and with Benjamin Bufano and Spencer Macky at the Mary Hopkins Institute of San Francisco.
The piece will arrive matted to fit a standard size frame. Estate stamped lower right.
