The unusual madder red field is organized into an offset cartouche lattice pattern. Each panel features a tulip, botehs, small birds and animals. The attractive lime green is quite desirable. There are no dark blue areas. Other detail tones include: brown-black,ivory,green,straw and mustard. The pattern descends from antique Persian textiles.
The main ivory border shows stars and is set between dark brown reversing palmette minors. The weave is quite fine. The condition is fairly good, with knot beading from the light allover wear, commensurate to the age. Very slight end loss. All natural colours. This is a warm and genuine scatter in the Ferahan manner, but with a Malayer weave.
