It is 72" x 72". Peng was born in 1967 in Beijing China. He is a highly educated and internationally represented and collected artist. This painting is a part of a series of pop art work developed in 1996. This is a new wave of expressive change in the world of contemporary art in China. it is about the changes and support of the breakdown of the political scene filled with dynamic imagery. It is an early depiction of the ideas of people considering the old world and searching new ground. The looming large background female nude figure represents Mother China attempting, seeking or looking for a different life. The characters, subjects, symbols and airplanes are floating away. This is a mesmerizing work in a very frontal expression. This is from a private collector who purchased this in Beijing at the time around 2000 and paid well over $35,000.00 for it back then.
