Complemented by high quality wool and a durable body, the most notable of this piece’s geometric, tribal symbols are the eight-pointed star medallions in the field, center to each gul (symbolizing the womb of the celebrated mother goddess of this era) in rich variations of beige, brick red, azure blue, and salmon-pink colourways against a black background; though the presence of alternating camel motifs is an uncommon design choice among Persian runners of this era.
