The simplistic forms have a strong sense of dimension and volume that is supplemented by a palette of gorgeous variations of green, pink and violet hues. Line is used to describe the "essence" of the fruit, it's form and the surrounding shapes.

The style of the painting incorporates influences of expressionism and fauvism with a modern twist. I am always inspired by the beauty of life and simple things that can often be taken for granted. I love painting fruit that are readily available as the seasons change and taking time to notice their beauty. Pears in particular have many symbolic meanings - including fertility, immortality and prosperity.

I created this artwork on a gallery wrapped canvas. This is a signed original that comes wired to hang without a frame.
