This station serves the Ladybarn area of Manchester, England. When the rail line was electrified in the 1960s after using coal fired steam engines for 50 years, the original station platform buildings were dismantled to make room for the new overhead cantenory wires. This is likely the time period when the sign first become available. It is steel with porcelain painted surface spelling out "Mauldeth road station for trains to Wilmslow". It has multiple holes around the perimeter for easy mounting. See less
