This painting was exhibited at the Koehnline Mueseum of Art in 2018 in the the show
Nevertheless She Persisted: women of Courage, Tenacity, and Strength, an international juried exhibition of art by women. There is catalog made of the show. The piece is 3-D in parts, there is paintbrushes and concrete material glued to the canvas.
Female Mystic is a goddess whose survival tool is her paintbrush. She listens to the bird chirping in her ear and is able to connect to other dimensions as signified by the women in the mirror and the floating head of the matriarchal hyena. She is part of nature surrounded by the giraffes and walking capybara. She draws on the wisdom of the universe.
