an inscription on the painting reads "i poszedł i zapomniał o gwiazdach sufit. Sufit jego niebem, niebem pustym jak on" ("and he went and forgot about the stars, a ceiling. The ceiling is his sky, a sky as empty as himself").

agata stomma
studied at the academies of fine arts in gdansk and in warsaw (1975-1981). After graduation she worked as an animator of animated films and made illustrations for books for children and magazines. Between 1996 and 2006, she was a lecturer at the european academy of arts in warsaw. She paints figurative paintings, often portraits.
