This book, featuring more than 300 portraits compiled by the gallerist Tony Shafrazi, is the most comprehensive presentation of this important part of the artist's oeuvre. Beginning with the "icon" of the series, Marilyn Monroe, in 1962 and continuing up to the last year of his life, Andy Warhol created a virtual museum of personalities, both living and deceased, from the worlds of film, show business, fashion, art, literature and politics. Characteristic of Warhol's unique style of portraiture is the use of silkscreens made from polaroid photographs. He would prime his silkscreens with a rich repertoire of colors, both bold and expressionistic, producing some of the most distinctive portraits of our time and reviving the genre more successfully than anyone since John Singer Sargent. The book begins with Marilyn Monroe and continues with portraits of Elizabeth Taylor, Jacqueline Kennedy, Truman Capote, David Hockney, John Lennon, Judy Garland, Rudolph Nureyev, Mick Jagger, Aretha Franklin, Liza Minnelli, Yves Saint Laurent, Muhammad Ali, Princess Diana and Prince Charles, et.al. - an extraordinary gallery of some of the most famous and influential figures of the 20th century, by one of its most important artists. All reproduced in their original square aspect ratio in full color, full page high quality printing and paper.

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).

Cancellations

- Chairish Express In-Home deliveries are currently only offered for international cross-border shipments.
- The item will be delivered to your home and placed in the desired room. The delivery service includes unpacking, inspecting, and removing packaging materials; and does not include installation or setting up the item.
- Shipping charges start at $999 and vary based on the size, weight, packaging, and/or the value of the item.
- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
- You will need tools and/or equipment to open the crate.

- Chairish Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.

- Chairish In-Home Delivery
