This beautiful fabric is an antique homespun from Europe that I date to the early 1800's absolutely GORGEOUS GORGEOUS GORGEOUS this homespun hemp has two sides, one side has the wonderful dark mulberry toned stripes and the other side has faded with time, creating the most amazingly beautiful, faded, soft mulberry pink tones!!! Multi-tonal stripe the ground tone is a paler natural tone, HEAVY weight, medium open weave. One of the most gorgeous of these textiles I have ever found heavy weight! Machine washable, just ideal for today's busy lifestyles! This fabric is ideal for upholstery, table runners, curtains, bedding, pillows, dog beds, shower curtains etc!

These textiles are, by nature, Eco-friendly! The average age of these textiles is 100 years and they were naturally home grown, home retted ( in local lakes and ponds) and woven by hand. These textiles are being re-cycled today and showing off the extreme craftsmanship of past generations! Yet another feature that makes these textiles extremely eco-friendly is their durability. These textiles were designed to endure generations of constant use and will have an extremely long life. The timeless beauty of this linen and their extraordinary quality make these textiles the perfect choice for any home and an environmentally friendly choice

This wonderful fabric has so many uses:Upholstery, bedding, cushions, curtains,clothing, Roman Blinds, bags, so many wonderful sewing projects

The woman weavers of yesterday would spend their evenings weaving these amazing rolls of linen. It took the average woman 1 night to weave 60 centimeters ( 24 inches) of linen

These rolls are 100% machine washable, on warm..if there is visible dirt, just add a bit of Oxyclean. Simply use normal detergent, warm wash. I like to add fabric softener to the finaly rinse. Then, dry in the dryer. When the fabric is in the dryer, be sure that it doesn't get tangled up on itself as this will cause wrinkles, so check every 5 minutes to be sure it is drying properly. Also they can be line dried, simply spin dry then remove when wet. Roll the linen tightly and let sit overnight. In the morning unroll and allow to dry naturally this presses the linen and there is usually no need to iron ( unless you prefer it perfect). Pure linen or hemp rolls tend to have no shrinkage, the rolls with cotton tend to have some shrinkage. These rolls are tough and sturdy, built to last.....and last and last!! Hemp is built to last for many many generations making it a lovely textile for creating family heirlooms

All of my linen rolls are produced using natural fibers. Natural fibers have the irregularities and subtleties that are inherent ...adding to their rustic charm

These rolls are increasingly difficult to find as they have been used so extensively over the past 20 years. This is a wonderful opportunity to own your own piece of textile history less

Condition Notes: This textile is in as found , unwashed condition with light storage dust. There are two larger storage marks on … moreThis textile is in as found , unwashed condition with light storage dust. There are two larger storage marks on the first yard of this bolt which are thin but run across the bolt perpendicular to the width which may or may not wash out. This bolt has some small areas ( an inch or two maximum) along the selvage which have been damaged. The damaged edges don't extend more than even a half of an inch into the fabric, however it is important to note that this bolt would not be ideal for textiles such as table runners because the little spots of damage along the selvage would unravel if repeatedly washed and not hemmed. Ideal for upholstery etc! less
