This rare 10x17 antique Ningxia rug—hand-knotted in wool and originating from China circa 1920-1930—is from our very special curation of collectible antique pieces, wherein each piece is chosen for their regal design and rare provenances.
On the Design:
It’s a most unusual find for the colors and patterns, but this is just one of many rarities and beauties that speak to this rug as an oversized masterpiece of Ningxia style. Connoisseurs will admire a beige/brown field underscore, blue and peach floral patterns, matching the hues of the border alike. It’s a nod to a regal, dramatic period piece in a contemporary quality that also recaptures the classic look of abrash in its colors—exemplary of our collection and its aspirations. Keen eyes will admire the particular play of elegant and whimsical, less-formal sensibility that denotes some of our principal’s favorite vintage and antique patterns like those that inspired this line.
Condition:
This antique Ningxia rug further enjoys pristine condition, for its age and origin.
