A vintage, monumental life-sized fertility statute or goddess hand-carved from a single piece of wood. Fertility statutes are one of the oldest and most recognizable forms of African art with curvaceous bodies representing motherhood, sexuality and abundance. According to tribal legend, fertility statues were placed beside bed chambers to ensure a couple's fertility.
