Costello's work focused upon various European scenes and cities, such as the canals of Venice, the Windmills of Amsterdam and of course the large boulevards of Paris.

I.Costello signed oil painting impressionist Venice Grand Canal signed: I .Costello bottom left. Extremely attractive subject of a goldola and surrounding classic buildings on the Grand Canal Venice.

The painting has been painted in oils on stretcher canvas and framed in a gold tone wooden frame with a hanging wire attached to the reverse side.
