Every pattern is locally screened by hand in her studio, and always on natural materials such as raw silk, linen, and cotton. Her meticulous silk-screening process requires up to 12 screens to achieve the final pattern and color.
Calcutta features a striking geometric pattern of strong lines of waving movement in bright navy, punctuated with organic dots and triangles in navy on a medium Cambridge grey ground in cotton. The reverse is a coordinating heavily textured zig zag cotton tweed in navy and grey. Front and back are united with a petite deep navy cotton braided rope to frame the design.
