Hand-knotted in wool, a 4x11 rug from Rug & Kilim’s newly unveiled curation of rare tribal pieces. Originating from Turkey circa 1950-1960, as rare in its pictorial patterns as it is in size.
This particular pictorial carpet depicts geometric figures in warm tones of red, orange, blue & black, encased in florals & chevrons of similar colorways. Connoisseurs may note humanoid depictions were often intended as representations of life in the weaving culture of this era.
Prevailing in good condition, an exemplary piece of unique folk art worthy of being a meaningful addition to many projects. Among the most uncommon acquisitions R&K Principal Josh Nazmiyal has seen of this period.
