The scene is of a chinese village life and landscape, an exceptional level of fine detail with houses, lakes, trees, bridges, unusually this example has additional colourful elements with characters and animals painted depicting historic family life. The diorama stands on a an ebonised black lacquered stand that has an open fret work frame and has a lacquered framed glazed cover. The diorama is beautifully modelled with some very minor losses to the finer cork areas.
