This traditional marine seascape skillfully depicts an oncoming storm. It is signed on the lower left corner but the signature is difficult to decipher.

Edmund Bogg was born in 1851 and came to Leeds age 20, setting up a shop supplying artists materials, and a business as a picture dealer and framer at Wade Street, Leeds. Around the late 1890s he set up the Leeds Savage Club, with a handful of other artists, and was elected as its’ president.
The dimensions given are those of the frame. The actual canvas size is 18" x 12"
