There's a beautifully integrated bronze bead strip just inside the mat to help the eye transition from the ornate details of the artwork to the simple elegance of the mat and frame.

Paintings like this, with their incredibly fine detailing, are typically much smaller in scale, so this one is a particularly great find! The colors are beautifully vibrant and you'll notice accents of lustrous gold detailing throughout.

My favorite thing about this piece is the area around the middle of the right-hand border, where the leaves and other natural elements from the main scene spill out onto the more restrained, orderly border area. It's like the beauty and abundance of nature just couldn't be contained, and given the traditional style of this genre, it feels deliciously subversive!
