A rare pair of carved mahogany abstract figures circa mid-1950s by the modernist jeweler and painter Stella Popowski (1931-2008). Popowski was active in both Los Angeles and San Francisco, California and an important figure in the modernist jewelry movement in Taxco, Mexico, working and designing for both Antonio Pineda and Los Castillo.
The taller piece on the left measures 23.5" high, 9.25 wide, 1 7/8" deep.
The shorter piece on the right measures 19.25" high, 11.25" wide, 1 7/8" deep.
