This leaf-shaped tray by Brazilian artist Cristina Duarte is both organic and contemporary in feeling. The leaf shape is complimented by the ruffled sides of the bowl and the variation of heights within both the exterior and interior of the bowl.
The bowl is metallic bronze leaf on a glass base finished with an overlay of glass.

The unpolished glass creates an uneven surface which is then covered by the leaf. The leaf is pressed into the uneven surface resulting in a highly textured organic top. That surface is then covered in a thin layer of glass. I have noted "some imperfections" only because of the rough texture of the metallic leaf. less
