Description: Copied from an 18th century antique found in a home along the James River in Virginia, this chest features reverse serpentine top with molded edge over a conforming case, fitted with four graduated dovetailed constructed drawers, raised on ogee bracket feet. Hickory Chair's James River Collection is the furniture industries longest furniture collection. Started in 1941, Hickory Chair replicated antiques found in the elegantly appointed interiors of plantation homes found along the James River in Virginia. Each piece is crafted in the Old World 18th century standards with deep hand rubbed finishes.
