Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, the inner cabinet has been given a fresh coat of paint and the cabinet has an all over beautiful, aged patina but there are no outstanding flaws that we have detected. It was missing one of the little rectangle brass knobs on the hardware so one was created by our experienced staff. There are plenty of cabinets in this world BUT every now and then (And NOT very often!) you come across an EXTRORDINARY vintage Chinoiserie piece like this! Incomparably… BREATH TAKING. This is a gorgeous Chinoiserie style entertainment storage cabinet or armoire by Henredon and from their Folio 10 Collection. It is comprised of a dark ebony brown cabinet embellished with fantastic, intricately hand painted Asian scenes including figures, trees, mountains, streams, and huts or Minka’s in marvelous colors of red, orange, yellow, and green. So beautifully composed it feels like a vision in an Oriental paradise. The cabinet has two sections, an upper and lower bearing two sets of double doors featuring beautiful brass hardware with teardrop pulls and little rectangle knobs. The doors open to expose a top section with a fixed shelf and an open square cut-out for cord running convenience if you choose to place a television or gaming monitor in this area. There is also a plug in on the lower inside left and additional components on the back of the cabinet. It has a lower shelf that pulls out which is helpful if you use it to hold a turn table or gaming console and a nice large drawer beside useful for controllers, remotes, socks, or linens depending on what usage this cabinet serves in your home. This section also has a lighting option!! Below you will discover two shelves on one side with cut-out areas in the back for more cords if you so choose and a smaller felt lined drawer (bearing the Henredon label) above an open storage area. And if all of this wasn’t enough… it stands illustrious and tall upon marvelous Ming style feet!! It’s going to be fabulous if used as an entertainment cabinet in your living room, as a useful, beautiful armoire or wardrobe in your bedroom, a wonderful storage cabinet, or as the perfect gaming cabinet in the family room!! This cabinet has adequate storage for anything from clothing, linens, pillows, and bedding to game components, electronics, and tv’s or monitors. Plus, it exudes an incredible Chinoiserie presence sure to make a bold statement in whatever room it occupies.

Henredon was founded in 1945 by four Drexel Heritage executives; T. Henry Wilson, Ralph Edwards, Donnell VanOppen, and Sterling Collet. The name Henredon is a combination of their names. These four men were determined to build furniture of custom quality and their original offering was only three chests. It has since blossomed into hundreds of designs still in keeping with their goal. Through the years they have engaged well-known designers to create their unique and fine furniture. They currently are part of the company Furniture Brands, Inc. but still embracing their long-standing tradition of fine furniture craftsmanship and reputation for timeless elegance.
