An extremely collectible vintage Persian Kilim of Qashqai provenance, handwoven in wool circa 1950-1960.
This tribal rug enjoys an uncommon marriage of nomadic elements—including a narrow field in brighter colors between richer stripes. A beige center hosts bright traditional motifs, while stripes of red, orange and green play beautifully on both sides. Keen eyes will admire subdued chevron patterns within those stripes, further testament to the piece’s rare caliber of intricacy. A versatile 5x8 flat weave that hosts traditional elements in a playful, pleasant new way for its period.
Further enjoys good condition for this Persian tribal provenance and rarity.
