Peill and Putzler have been producing outstanding quality lamps since 1947. Their trademark glasswork gained popularity in the post-war era, when the company’s production peaked and their designs took over mid-century modern. As a founding member of the German Design Council the company not only impacted design history but the wider cultural context as well. This piece deviates from the usual Peill and Putzler globularity and rather takes a bell/hat shape. On the other hand, the body of the ceiling lamp embodies Peill and Putzler, with the astounding, high-quality opaline glass, the brass details, and the square shape engravings on the shade.
