A set of six mid-century rail back Teak and Danish paper cord dining chairs designed by Arne Hovmand-Olsen and produced by Mogens Kold.
Each chair has all new, handwoven paper cord seating.
CREATOR Arne Hovmand-Olsen for Mogens Kold, Denmark.
DATE OF MANUFACTURE c.1960-1970.
MATERIALS & TECHNIQUES Teak, New Paper Cord.
CONDITION Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor wear on the legs.
DIMENSIONS H 38.75 in. x W 18 in. x D 19 in. Seat Height 17 in.
HISTORY
Arne Hovmand-Olsen (1919-1989) was a Danish furniture designer who was active in the mid-20th century. He was born in Denmark and trained as a cabinetmaker before studying furniture design at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen.
