This is a lovely and very solid dining room set. I purchased it from the original owner. It was in … more This is a lovely and very solid dining room set. I purchased it from the original owner. It was in her formal dining room and only used at holidays. The dining set was brought into the home when purchased in 1981 and stayed there until the estate sale, 43 years later, when I purchased it last month.

The set consists of a Double Pedestal Table (model number 9161-772), (2) Cane Back Host Arm Chairs (model number 9161-864), and (4) Cane Back Side Chairs (model number 9161-863). The table itself has a beautiful pattern on the top and includes (2) 20" leaves. The table is 44" x 68", extendable with 1 leaf to 88", with 2 leaves to 108". The custom felt lined table pads are also included. The cane back chairs are in fabulous condition! The original owner had the seats professionally reupholstered in the original box cushion style. The spec sheet, with photos, model numbers, and measurements, from the original Thomasville furniture catalog and tag is still in the drawer of the buffet.

This listing is part of the Thomasville Decorum line, model number 9161. I also have 2 other listings with the matching dining room pieces from the Decorum collection. The first is a lighted china cabinet which consists of the closed deck (model number 9161-335) and buffet (model number 9161-130). Also listed is the flip top mobile serving piece (model number 9161-510) which rolls on concealed wheels and the top flips open for serving. From my research, I believe that this set is walnut.

The leaves show some wear and scratches on the edges (assuming they were stored standing on edge). Very little wear on the chairs. One of the arm chairs has 2 small scratches on the back. All of the chairs are very solid. I do not see any tears in the caning. The chairs were professionally reupholstered. less
