Upholstered exclusively for THE TASTEMAKER SHOPPE in richly striped velvet from Kravet's Couture Collection named "Esoteric/Aged Bronze”. This fabric is no longer in production, making these chairs more “specialty and found”. Tailored cushions have Moore and Giles leather welts and tufting. These chairs exemplify Maison Jansen’s iconic Parisian aesthetic produced between 1920-1950. Brass feet are stamped on the reverse, ensuring authenticity,

Maison Jansen, the legendary Parisian design firm was founded in 1880, it was legendary for blending classic and traditional styles with modern sophistication. They were internationally commissioned by royalty and heads of state – their most famous project was for the White House, during the John F. Kennedy administration. Jacqueline Kennedy commissioned Boudin and Paul Manno, the head of Jansen's NY office, to decorate rooms. They designed the White House's iconic “Red Room”, and the “Chambel IV” yacht”, later renamed “NorthWind II”, for the Kennedys. If you enjoy a story with great provenance, these chairs are for you!
