On the Design:

Admirers of the craft may note an inspiration from Heriz Karaje rugs—named in particular for the small town known for this style. Its play of medallion and all over style attests, as does its play of rich and vibrant colors together. Here, rich red underscores bright blue and beige-brown towns in detailed patterns quite keeping with the regal beauty of this Persian inspiration. The curvilinear floral patterns in the central border is emboldened by a beige background, lending dimensionality between the field and the wrapping blue geometric border with its expansive, intricately woven pattern.

It’s a collectible work from one of R&K Principal Jahanshah Nazmiyal’s favorite provenances—that being rare works of European and Oriental confluence that makes such unique works as this.
