It retains an original paper label marked "Made in United Arab Republic" (UAR). The UAR was a sovereign Middle Eastern state comprised of Egypt (including the occupied Gaza strip) and Syria from 1958 until 1961 when Syria seceded from the union. Egypt continued to be known officially as the United Arab Republic until September 1971 when it was formally dissolved. This hand forged piece features beautiful chasing and repoussé work and is in exquisite condition. A work of art that is both functional and decorative. Beautiful! See less
