Late Qing Dynasty iridescent painted Elm Money Trunk / Storage Chest. Made in Shandong East China, circa 1870s. Features two upper compartments and lower cabinet for accessory storage. Upper compartments have brass latches allowing them to be locked while lower cabinet has classic Chinese moon hardware. The chest is made with mortise and tenon construction.
