A hand-knotted and woven Baluch tribal runner. This geometric wool rug is rendered in a palette of red, burgundy, and midnight blue. It features an allover pattern of latticed Tekke-style diamond medallions and Kurbage guls over a midnight blue field. Framing the field are geometric borders including diamond shapes alternating in red and blue. Meanwhile, the outer guard border is flat-woven in a classic Baluchi pattern of red and blue interlocking steps. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing at either end with short blue and red Kilim skirts short, and tan wool warp fringe that may include goat or camel hair. Unlabeled.
