Arthur Bevan Collier was born in Plymouth, the United Kingdom, on March 25, 1832. His father was John Collier the Member of Parliament from Plymouth from 1832 to 1841. The aristocratic family lived at Grimstone Hall, Whitechurch, Tavistock. His elder brother became Lord Monkswell, a well-respected judge of the Liverpool County Court.
After a classical public school education including classes in drawing and painting, Arthur Bevan Collier became a clerk to a solicitor in London, where he met and married his wife, the former Eliza Blaker. Their first child, Ann was born in 1855 followed by a second daughter, Lilian, in 1858. Both became established artists in their maturity.
In 1862, Collier became a member of the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry Volunteer Corps, the 6th Rifles, eventually achieving the rank of Colonel. During this period, Collier continued to paint the countryside in Scotland, Wales, Devon and Cornwall including a group of finely detailed and elegant topographical oil on canvas paintings of the River Tamar and the Trebarwith areas.
Arthur Bevan Collier died on February 20, 1908. He is buried in the churchyard at Lezant, Launceston, near his home at Camartha, Callington, Cornwall.
He exhibited his colorful and refined landscape paintings widely between 1855 and 1899 including twenty canvases in exhibitions at the Royal Academy, seven works at the British Institution and fifty-three landscape views at galleries in and near Suffolk Street, London. He is included in Graves Dictionary of English Painters who records that Collier “exhibited a total of ninety-two paintings in London exhibitions up to 1893.” Collier also exhibited his landscapes at the Walker Gallery in Liverpool, and at the Birmingham City Gallery, Birmingham.
His work is included in a number of public collections including The City of Plymouth and the Royal Academy.

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).

Cancellations
